My Story & Why I love them…
It
was about 11 years ago coming this summer of ‘09 is where my story
begins and my love and passion for the breed started. My first Rottie
was a rescued adult whose first 3 years of life was brutal. Alexies is
her name, she was a great friend and never left my side for anything.
Little did I know that one day she would be rescuing me from a horrific
accident. I was kicked and trampled (unconscious) several times by one
of my very large horses I was feeding. I had passed out from the first
blow to the head so I didn’t feel a thing. Until later when I woke up!
Alexies left me behind for the first time and went to get help (so I
was told) she ran for ten minutes to get back to the house. Alexies
found my mother, she said that she knew something was wrong when the
dog came back alone.
Despite how mankind how treated this girl
in the beginning her heart & spirit within still flourished, and
made room for kindness and love. It really amazes me how forgiving
these dogs are even though some endure horrible events. People can
really learn a lot from them. Alexies is gone now, but the imprint that
she left is one that’s life changing. For her heroic efforts I am
forever in her debt. So in memory of my dear sweet Alexies I want to
preserve my breed for the hearts within them, & the trust worthy,
hardworking exceptional companions that they truly are. May other
people embrace them as I do and see them as the heroes that they could
become.
